Steven Hauck
Steven DeFord Hauck was born on September 10, 1959 to Donald and Margery Hauck, both divinity students at Princeton Theological Seminary. The family moved to Austin, Texas, where Steve acquired three younger siblings and a passion for the arts-literature, music, and particularly the theater. After years of study and acting training he moved to New York City, and made his Broadway debut opposite dramatic powerhouse Tovah Feldshuh in "Irena's Vow" in 2009. Off-Broadway highlights include Moises Kaufman's brilliant Tennessee Williams adaptation, "One Arm"; "King Lear," "The Screwtape Letters," and "Spy Garbo," which the New York Times said "generates poignancy, thanks to Mr. Hauck's soulful performance." Steve appeared on several daytime dramas, including "All My Children" as a smitten suitor of Susan Lucci's Erica Kane. Steve has been in three Spike Lee joints: the films "Oldboy" and "Da Sweet Blood of Jesus" and the Netflix series "She's Gotta Have It." Other TV shows include Tina Fey's "30 Rock" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," "Elementary," "Madam Secretary," "The Blacklist," and Baz Luhrmann's Netflix series "The Get Down." His largest movie role thus far is Arnold in director Robbie Bryan's thriller "The Eyes."
