Detailed Analysis:

An honest IAS officer, Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn), who has already been transferred for 49 times because of his law-abiding nature gets hints from his sources about an assessee who's stealing tax. On the other hand we've Rameshwar Singh aka Tauji (Saurabh Shukla) who is the infamous crooked politician of Sitagarh. The rest of the story revolves around the faceoff between Amay and Tauji. How Amay tries to prove Tauji has hidden untaxed treasure in his house and how Tauji is confident about no one can touch his dignity.

In Raid, Ajay Devgn hits a home run as this is the game in which
he is a master at. He has played his role with perfection & as usually wins the movie with his eyes. Saurabh Shukla is a show stealer & his chemistry with Ajay Devgn helps the movie to infuse comic moments in the narration. Ileana D'Cruz is there for a minimal time but charms away with her presence. Pushpa Joshi, the actress who plays the mother of Saurabh Shukla has done a tremendous job even though it was her debut film.

Raj Kumar Gupta, who has this love of adapting real life incidents for his movies has played gamble with this one. Portraying the entire story in a single house without letting anyone get bored is what a Raid is all about. Ritesh Shah's brilliant story and dialogues are two of the main reasons why this film could click with the audience.

The only negative point about the film is there are few sequences which happen just too easily hence it's hard to believe making them unconvincing.

Alphonse Roy, who has also been a cinematographer for Gupta's much acclaimed movie Aamir, does a wonderful job here too. Talking about the music, the love songs were forced which dragged the pace. Papon's song in the end was well placed and was the only good thing in the music section.

In a nutshell, Raid is super entertaining, full with twists and turns backed by some commendable dialogues and brilliant performances by the leading stars. Specially, Kalu Mama a.k.a. Saurabh Shukla delivers the best performance yet again.
