S Shankar’s sci-fi film 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles, held its own on its first Monday as it collected a handsome Rs 13.75 crore at the box-office, thereby going past the coveted Rs 100 crore-mark. Its total collection, after a five-day run in the cinemas, stands at Rs 111 crore, which is phenomenal, to say the least.
Earlier on Thursday, the mega-budgeted film opened with earnings of Rs 20.25 crore. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the film fetched Rs 18 crore, Rs 25 crore and Rs 34 crore respectively to reach a stupendous opening-weekend total of Rs 97.25 crore.
