Director AR Murugadoss''s recently-released film Sarkar has managed to overcome all the hurdles posed by the AIADMK to have a smooth theatrical run. The film has grossed over Rs 200 crore worldwide in the opening weekend.
On November 11, there was a considerable dip in the box office collection of Sarkar. The trade pundits reveal that the film collected Rs 46 lakhs on Monday in Chennai alone. Sarkar minted Rs 11.23 crore in the opening weekend in Chennai, which is a huge record for a Tamil film.
the film has to make over Rs 140 crore in Tamil Nadu alone to break even. It looks like Sarkar is heading in that direction and the makers are positive that the film will be a profitable venture for the producer, distributors and theatre owners as well.
