Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a Social Drama Comedy and romantic movie about electricity & electric bills. A Print & Packaging company owner tripathi the character played by Divyendu thinks of killing himself and commits suicide under the pressure of paying huge electricity bills charged him by local electricity company for his company. His best friend, Shahid Kapoor who is also a lawyer found his lives only purpose is to seek justice for his friend and filed an FIR against the electricity company for power-theft.
In the movie, Shahid Kapoor is seen in the film as someone raw, rough. He is a lawyer, but he is not very talented and would rather make money by doing some “jugaad”(who does things in a resourceful way). Shahid Kapoor during an interview said that the issue with which the film was dealing was a major attraction, and the best part was that it was still very fresh and entertaining. In fact, you actually may not like my character in the first half. Shahid Kapoor’s most of the dialogues are funny and entertaining.
We are hoping that this top class issue based story may touch 90 crores in lifetime box office collection.
